spring is here

Posted March 11th, 2010 by Rachael and filed in Uncategorized

I’ve been to the chiropractor (all fine), the physiotherapist (both shins all better) and the podiatrist (‘HOW many times have you broken this foot?!’) this week.

Next week I’m going to a different podiatrist, who will scan my foot and sort out an orthotic insole for my poor old squashed foot which is apparently full of scar tissue and doesn’t bend very well, hence the sore ankles.

The best news is spring is on the way.
Everything seems easier in spring, I think.
Even running 15 miles.
(I hope.)

I’m off to Silverstone this weekend to watch lots of other people running in the Half Marathon.
I didn’t get a place, mainly because I was in denial about running 26.2 miles when they were available.
The race is run by the same team who do the London Marathon, so it seems like a great opportunity to see how they do things. Plus there may be shopping opportunities!

Oh, a crocus! Green shoots! It's spring-y here, too (sunny and 12C), but growing things are still slumbering.

Glad the shins are better… do take care of that foot! Ouch. And will you have a weekend away? Just a day? On your own?

I just got up to let the chickens out (5.30am, eyeroll) and I can officially declare that winter is over. Just walked up the garden in the dark in a nightie and ugg boots and didn't freeze!

Rachel, don't knock yourself, you are very brave and doing a great job, most of us couldn't or wouldn't attempt it, but you have put me to shame so John and I have joined the local gym ??????? to at least try to be fitter OAP's !!
