thank you
To everyone who has donated money here.
To my friends
To everyone who came to the Quiz/Disco night
To Eric for making the quiz such fun
To Craig for being a fab DJ
To Heart Research UK for the work they do and the lives they save
To my sister, for being mad enough to run 26.2 miles with me
To my husband and children, just because
And to my mum, because she’ll be there on Sunday to give us a big cuddle at the end.
hello
I’ve been struck dumb. Those of you who know me in person will know that this is a rare event.
marathon
• noun 1 a long-distance running race, strictly one of 26 miles 385 yards (42.195 km). 2 a long-lasting and difficult task.
Gulp.
26 miles: 26 memories
I can’t tell you how much I miss you. But you know.
1. Any chance of a cup of tea for your old dad?
And then you’d drink it in two seconds flat, tell us it was a flying visit because you were off somewhere to do your Man from Del Monte bit, and disappear. I’m going to disappear, you used to say.
Then one day you did. You just disappeared. That wasn’t very fair, was it? I’m still angry about that, sometimes. You’re my dad, you can’t just bugger off without asking.
open your heart
On Saturday night, ie 8 days until That Thing We Won’t Mention, I’m having a party to raise money for Heart Research UK.
