Oink, snort, oink – the big question…

I can tell you about Hallowe’en and making pumpkin pie and the loveliness that is autumn, but it’s not really running, is it? I’m having a minor nervous breakdown about the neverending H1N1/swine flu/oink disease/pigthrax.
argh

Between getting the children back to school, getting back to normal after holiday and feeling ill in general, time just passed by, until my friend pointed out that I’d been ill for two weeks and wasn’t getting better. So I went to the doctor today and now I have a week long course of antibiotics to try and chase off the sinus infection I’ve managed to end up with. The way things are going, I’m going to be right back at square one. I’m having a minor panic about it, but I tend to keep my fitness fairly well, and pick up fitness quickly, so I’m sure I’ll be fine. If I keep saying it, I’ll convince myself, won’t I?!

No running yet, because the little cold has turned into full blown something-horrible. Chest hurts, ears hurt, head stuffed with wet cotton wool, tired and worn out. Argh.

This week has been full of coughing, sneezing, and generally feeling grim. I don’t believe in exercising when I feel ill, so there hasn’t been much to say. I’m hoping to get back to a bit of running at the beginning of the week, although I’ll be utterly miserable then, because my lovely friend and inspiring marathon goddess, Jessica, is off to live in Aberdeen with her husband and 3 children. We’re still running the marathon together, but we’ll be doing our training separately. In November we’re meeting up for a girly weekend in York and I’ll be taking my trainers!
